A Department of Corrections statement says 36-year-old DeMarko Quinta Carlisle was stabbed to death during an altercation at Elmore Correctional Facility on Sunday. Two men died in Alabama prisons during the first week of November. Marquis Hatcher was assaulted by another inmate in Elmore Correctional Facility on Nov. 4, an Alabama Department of Corrections spokesperson said. Hatcher was transported to the infirmary at nearby Staton Correctional Facility, where he died. Kelly Betts, the ADOC spokesperson, did not confirm whether a weapon was used in the assault.
