An inmate who escaped an Alabama prison was taken back into custody Friday morning in Montgomery. Tandion Markeeice Stoudemire, 21, made his escape about 2 a.m. Thursday from the medium-security lockup Staton Correctional Facility in Elmore County. Authorities have not said how he made his getaway. He is serving a 23-year prison sentence for a 2022 attempted murder conviction out of Montgomery. Alabama Department of Corrections officials said prison investigators, the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Task Force and Central Alabama Crime Stoppers took Stoudemire into custody about 8 am.
